1st “Under the Lights” Such a Success

Friday, October 3, 2014-PCA’s first ever nighttime soccer game made possible by the renting of lights for our field. It started out as a simple idea and grew into a very special evening at PCA. The attendance by students, parents and friends was overwhelming. Thanks to the Class of 2012’s gift to PCA, an outdoor flagpole and flag, we were able to begin an outdoor sporting event with the National Anthem. Our bleachers were outlined in lights and balloons. An outdoor concession stand, staffed by the sophomore class, stayed busy all night, where attendees could purchase hotdogs, pizza, pretzels and more. The middle school soccer team enjoyed sharing the field during warm-up with the varsity players and being able to play a short game during half-time. School spirit ran very high, thanks in part to our purple and gold squad, and the spirit can being put to good use. Many alumni came out, some just to cheer for the Eagles and see old friends. Others came to play in the Alumni Reunion Soccer Game. The varsity soccer game was hard fought and extremely competitive, but in the end the Eagles fell to Summit Homeschool in a shoot-out by just one goal. Each of these things individually don’t seem so special, but together they made for one extremely fun evening at PCA. A huge thanks to everyone who had part in making it possible.
