We counted it down and had so much fun welcoming our students back to school!

We’ve been planning for the 1st day of the 2018 school year for several weeks at PCA. If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you know we’ve been counting down the days until school began. Two weeks ago, we met with secondary students who are members of the National Honor Society, Student Council, National Art Honor Society, German National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, or are class officers. We met with them to talk about the very important topic of being “Ambassadors” at PCA this year. We discussed specific ways to be ambassador in their school. Students provided great ideas and together we formed a few new focus groups to begin the year. One of those focus groups was a 1st day of school Welcome Committee. These students spent this past Friday at PCA making welcome signs to hang on the locker of every new secondary student. They also planned the welcome celebration for the first day of school this week.
Special thanks to the following students for everything that they did to make this one of the most fun ways to start the school year:
- Rachel Brugger
We also want to give a very special thanks to Catherine Koloian, PCA Class of 2011 and PCA Administrative Intern this summer. Catherine spearheaded the wonderful Student Leadership Event and Ambassador Training Session. She worked with the students on the Welcome Committee to create the locker signs and welcome signs and today, for the 1st day of school for elementary, Catherine happily wore the Swoopie the PCA Eagle costume to greet our elementary students!
