An Encouraging Word

Helping our children keep their minds and hearts pure is a full time job for us as parents. One of the ways we can support our children is overseeing their use of social media and networking. This is a huge job and not for the faint of heart! As my children were growing up, my husband and I worked very hard to keep up with the friends, music, and information they watched on television. We did not deal with texting, iphones, Facebook and all of the various forms of social media available now. Here are some rules I found on Protect.com.
- Teach your children to never give out personal information over the Internet.
- Pay attention to online photos: know the type of photos your child is posting online
- Know your child’s online activities and friends.
- Instruct your child to never plan a face to face meeting.
- Supervise computer use.
Love, Mrs. Huntsman
